Snow in Nagoya

Every single winter, I could look out the window, and see a ton of snow. This was the case when I lived in Belarus, since I was born and until I was 8. This was the case from 8 and up when my family moved to the Detroit area here in United States. The months I spent in Japan just happen to be in the winter, and it was my first ever winter without any snow. Well, actually just once there was snow.
On that day pulled an all-nighter while trying to get some work done. Around morning time got hungry, looked in the fridge, there was nothing tasty whatsoever, so I went out at around 7 or 8, grabbed the bike, rode over to the nearest 7-Eleven for some tasty noodles and other yummy things, and on the way back to the apartment it started snowing.
Interestingly enough, during the whole winter, the temperature dropped below freezing point maybe only once or twice, the rest of the time it was hovering between 5 and 15C. So of course with it being so warm, this lonely snow melted within minutes of falling.
How nice it was being able to spend one winter without freezing my rear off. Of course the moment that I came back to US I was met with tons of snow. Well, who knows, maybe I'll spend the next winter in an even warmer climate.
As the next few photos I took within an hour of the ones with the snow, I'll just throw them in here too.
At the time I was there, some building was being constructed. I'm guessing by now its already finished. If only someone who lives there could go take some photos for me... ^_^
But anyways, while eating my tasty noodles obtained from 7-Eleven, heard sirens along with some other noise, so decided to go see what was going on.
Seems there was some sort of an accident, when I got to the construction site, some worker was being rushed out on stretchers. Wonder if he lived...
But enough about the bad, lets take a look at the good! Just look at how clean and pretty the emergency vehicle in the photo above is! Oh sigh, :( how I miss Japan. Each day of not being there, I just get sadder, and sadder, and sadder. Luckily I have Cheez-It crackers to cheer me up! Speaking of which, that offer for Kellogg's still stands... Damn I'm addicted to those things...

These are some nice pics of snow in Nagoya. When were they taken? I think it snowed twice here this past winter and, in both cases, the snow was gone 6 hours after it hit the ground. Kinda makes me want to visit Hokkaido in the winter to see the tunnels they have to dig just to access the roads ....

These were taken on Jan 13th between 8 and 11 in the morning. :)
And yeah, wouldn't mind visiting either, quite a bit of nice scenery up there during all seasons.

i'd love to experience and see snowfall, but there is just something about below zero that I think we tropics dwellers will not enjoy for very long.

@Jamaipanese, Nothing a nuclear winter can't fix ^_^ Alternatively you can just fly up here sometime during winter ^_^

No snow here unless I go up to the mountains. :P I've always liked seeing snow fall though, all quiet and calm.

@Coco the Bean, During summer no snow you mean? Because if its during the winter... Don't see quite how that is possible up in Vancouver, that is where you're from is it not? :p
