Mexico 2009 Part 11 - With the locals 03

After a long sleepless night of taking photos of first everything I saw, and then the turtle(s), I thought, screw it! Coffee FTW! I can sleep when I'm dead! And while I'm alive and awake may as well make the most of my time. So instead of going to sleep, I just stuck like a leech to the resort employees and followed them wherever they went.

You know, it really is quite amazing just how much you can get simply by being nice to others. During the time I was at the resort, I obviously encountered quite a few people, some of them were quite pleasant, but the vast majority were... umm, I don't want to say worthless pricks but I really can't think of a better way to describe them.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 2 01

Another day, another night shoot. It's actually quite funny, before this, I never before tried during long exposures of 'nature'. All the time it was just the generic photos w/ some car lights here and there, for example take a look at the 'January 5th Night Shoot - Part 1' post. I do however quite love my 'Polar Lights 2' photo - probably is one of my favorite long exposure photos that I ever took. But yeah, was actually quite amazed just how nicely the photos turned out in the first night shoot, so I decided to go back again to take some more photos.

VSTech.net - Coupon code 'flux'

Use coupon code 'flux' on vstech.net

Now, here's something exciting for a change! As you guys know, a little while ago I switched to a new host, Versus Technologies, after the wonderful GoDaddy completely *bleep*ed me over. So far, honestly, couldn't be happier. Site loads a good 10x faster then it did on GoDaddy, the support is top-notch (unlike GoDaddy who wasted over a week of my time) and so on... Really can't say enough good things about these guys.

Now, full disclosure, yes, I do work with VS Tech, I have been working with them for many years now - though, primarily work relations have been with their development side. However with that said, I can tell you this much, in all those years, I still haven't seen any unsatisfied customer (seriously serious). Obviously I put my money where my mouth is and am paying the full price for the service and I'm not getting any referral fees from them with this coupon code. The only reason for me doing this is because I think they're an excellent company and I would like to support them.

Anyway, the coupon code! Flux. What will it get you? What it will get you is 10% off any hosting plan. Oh and it doesn't end there. Not only will this coupon code take the 10% off your initial order, but it will automatically take 10% off each and every single time you renew - and this will happen an unlimited number of times, so basically its a 10% off for life. Finally, don't forget that if you sign up for a year, you also get a free domain with your order. Combined with my coupon code, not bad at all don't you think? ^_^

Anyways, enjoy guys, hopefully this will be of some help to some of you! Don't forget, 'flux'!

Mexico 2009 Part 8 - Leafs, church, cat and ants 02

Didn't really take too much photos during the day of this day as I was walking around in a half-dead state for most of the day. Can't even imagine living in such a harsh environment. Almost never drops below 30 degrees and the humidity is always over 90%. Living up here in Michigan (not for much longer) I can take a shower once a day (twice at most) and still feel quite fresh for most of the day - there I took about 5 showers a day and still walked around soaked.

One thing I like about these all-inclusive resorts, tons of food everywhere, and you don't have to carry around your wallet. The restaurants in the morning and during the day were all excellent, bunch of very tasty food in unlimited quantities - deep fried grilled cheese for example, holy hell its tasty. With that said, I can't even express how much I hate all the "fancy" restaurants, or whatever you want to call them.

Mexico 2009 Part 6 - First morning 04

After a long night of wondering, first taking pretty photos, then chasing raccoons, went back to the room for a quick shower.

Mexico 2009 Part 5 - Moths and raccoons 05

After spending a few hours making all the pretty night photos, I noticed that there were some raccoons wondering around the resort at night. Obviously, I wanted to take some photos of them also, so I left all my things at the bar, grabbed the camera, the flash, took off my shoes, and set off running after the raccoons.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 1 07

First night in Mexico, tons of pretty (and drunk) girls everywhere... So what do I do? Why I of course grab my camera and go wondering around the beach at night all by myself! So much more peaceful that way then getting drunk and watching people throw up over themselves... sigh...

Mexico 2009 Part 3 - Day 1 06

After the check-in, went wondering around the resort for a bit. Just to waste some time until the room was prepared. Above is the entrance to the lobby, the photo is an HDR. Don't really make them too often as it takes a while to process them and make them perfect after you have the photos in-hand. Generally speaking with all the tonemapping etc, take me maybe 2-3 minutes to go from start to finish... So thats 2-3 minutes longer then a regular photo would take me. But anyway, moving on...
