Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 06

Sadly, this is the last of the night shoots. This was actually not the last day there, but for the last 3 days that I was there I was walking around in a half-asleep, zombie state, so sadly took almost no photos at all.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 01

But before I get to the night photos, a few random shots I took during the day, here's one! I was walking along one of those bridges which run though the jungles between all the buildings, and suddenly I see something fluffy, soft and brown sleeping among some other brown stuff on the ground.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 02

Quietly I get closer to it to see what it is, but after the small squeak of the bridge, it wakes up and starts looking around confused.

It then turns around to see whom in hell is making all the noise only to find me, and leaves me to find out that its just a cat.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 04

After staring at each other for a few 20 seconds or so, the cat gets bored and starts licking itself, I move on.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 05

Some of these iguanas are pretty darn huge. However all of them, no matter how big, start running the moment you even look at them. Thats it for the the day photos. Was starting to feel a bit shit then so didn't take any more photos till night fell.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 07

But once night did come, I was out and about with the camera as every night before it. Love this photo, but really wish I could retake it. Looks excellent on the small screen of the camera, but once I looked at it on the large screen, found that during the time of shooting the tripod moved by just a few mm and in turn the photo came out a bit smudged. Shame. :(

Kinda funny, took a bunch of photos over a few days, but alot of them ended up looking very very similar. Guess what looked good on day 1, also looked good on all the days following. ^_^;

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 09

Remember in an earlier post I mentioned that you have to be careful when setting up your tripod on sand, on a beach? Well, here's the result. Didn't follow my own advice and as the photo was half-way done, a wave came, and washed out quite a bit of sand from under one of the tripod legs. That in turn changed the angle of the camera, and the result is what you see above.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 10

Really wish I could see so much starts every single night. However that wish doesn't quite match up with my other one of living in or at least near a very large such as Tokyo. Light pollution and stars just don't mix. How's the star viewing situation where you live?

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 11

The moon is just amazingly bright in these long exposures.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 12

And another very similar photo... :p

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 13

Back at the bar, some friends of the chef stopped by.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 14

A few hours later, the night chef (the one who's ass was covered in sand) is preparing onion rings for the day ahead. First take a ton of onions, chop them all up into rings, then take 36 eggs, break them...

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 15

...once the eggs have been broken, take flour, cover the rings of onion with it, dip the covered rings into the eggs, roll around in bread crumbs, and you're done. Then when needed, deep fry along with the French Fries (chips, for the UK visitors ~_^ ). Now you have freshly made onion rings. So much tastier then the frozen crap you can find in the stores.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 16

As morning comes, the night chef leaves and the morning one arrives.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 17

The large external flash I use. Absolutely love the fact that the LX3 has a hot shoe. The external flash is probably 20x more powerful then the small internal one, though to be fair, the internal one in the LX3 is quite impressive also given how small it is. Take a look at the second photo in my LX3 Photo Walk post to see what I'm talking about.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 18

Walking around the pool at 7 in the morning.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 19

But then as I approach the beach again, I see a huge shit-storm approaching. As I said before, I love rain, just not when there's a 500-some dollar camera in my hands...

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 20

Quite amazing how fast the storms come and go there. First its sunny, then 10 minutes later its thunder-storming, then 5 minutes later its sunny again. Oh and that floating pyramid thing is the same one that I was talking about in the Night Shoot 2 post.

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 21

Also, here's something interesting, that lifeguard tower in the distance, attached to it is a webcam. A near-live picture from it can be found at http://200.36.58.250/cgi-bin/guestimage.html. Quite enjoy looking at it from time to time. ^_^

Mexico 2009 - Night Shoot 3, cat, storm, onion rings 22

After the rain just sat in the middle of the beach for a few hours, drying and thinking while wrapped in a towel which I got at the bar. Thats it for this post. Not too much other Mexican photos, maybe only for another post or two. After that I'll also have 15-20 posts with some Japanese photos from earlier in the year which I never got around to posting back then. With that said, bye bye for the night, off to sleep or something or other now!

Thanx for clarifying the potato thingie as 'chips' :P What's 'French' fries? hehehe! Star gazing in this part of England is a bit difficult. Nowadays, the sky remains bright due to summer and even midnight if the natural light disappears, too many clouds destroy the chance. But on an ideal night, I've seen sky and stars the same way I've seen in other places e.g. Kuwait or India or Finland.

It rains the same way here. Glorious sunshine is replaced by gloomy dark clouds. They rain for 30 min the most and either clear off to bring sunshine back or stay murky but don't rain.

@Moign Khawaja, Heh yeah, UK isn't exactly known for its sunny weather :p I really don't mind rainy weather, I mean really I love it, but if it was raining for half the year... that would get quite tiring :p

    Hello There
Every one on internet searches for outstanding content. Its very unfortunate with most of the websites published posts that are boring and out of context articles, just to show that new material is being published. Contrary to that immoral practice, this article is a outstanding-written article.
