January 5th Night Shoot - Part 1
Apr 12 2009 23:52 | 14 Comments
Probably the 5th long exposure photo I posted, that was taken on this bridge facing south. Something about it that I just really liked. Went on a small night shoot on the 5th of January, this is part 1, second part coming tomorrow.
The car standing in the parking is a Daihatsu Copen. Probably one of the cutest convertibles I have ever seen.
Again, the hyperbolic sculpture in front of Nagoya Station
And without the car.
Standing.... Waiting...
And blast-off at the speed of light! ...Or something along those lines.
Same place, but at an angle.
Without the lights.
The fake glowing grass that I mentioned in a previous article.
Looks very cool from the side.
Again at an angle.
Looks so pretty at night, but during the day looked absolutely horrid. Just a big grey rectangle covering up half of the building.
Taxis queuing. Waiting till they can squeeze in at the parking in front of the station.
Everything is so well organized with the taxis.
The MODE GAKUEN building full of blue lights.
Had to sit in the middle of the street while the cars were moving on both sides to take this photo. ^_^
Probably one of my most favorite shots of the night. Absolutely love how the taxi tail lights turned out.
And while a taxi is standing.
On the balcony of Nagoya Station.
One of the things I love most about the Lumix LX3, is the ability to set focus manually. Amazing how little of the point and shoot cameras have that ability.
Lights from the previous photo but in focus.
Arches covered in flowers.
Everything covered in lights.
Even more lights.
Waiting for the light to change next to the MODE GAKUEN building.
A bit of an accident, but pretty nonetheless.
Part 2 coming tomorrow. With break-dances of sort.

Wow, dude, these are some beautiful pictures. I so love the first one. Wow wow and wow.

The long exposures are pretty neat, almost spooky. I just might have to start wandering
aound my town and see what pics I can come up with. Although around here it shuts down
after work pretty much.

#08 and #17 are awesome.
#02.. haven't you posted that before?
julio

@Ragnar, @julio
Thanks.
@MikeD>
Spooky? I think they look even more alive and exciting then the regular pics, except of course for the few where the streets appear to be empty. ^_^ And definitely! If you do, be sure to toss me a link, I'd love to see them!
@Matthew
Don't think so... I'm posting everything in chronological order so unless I screwed up somewhere along the way, doubt I posted it before.

Amazing pictures. The ones with no traffic at all have a surreal, eerie touch to it. :]
Edward
Great night shoots. The LX3 is one amazing camera for the size and price.

@Japaipanese
Don't forget to show them once you do! ^_^
@blauereiter
Thanks and yes :D
@Edward
For the size, yes, for the price... yeah... Not so much, well, before, yes, now, as I'm looking at the price, holy crap it went up by a lot in the last month. Weird.
