Fat raccoons with large balls

Everyone knows Japan is full of strange things, but once in a while, when you're walking down the street, you see something which just makes you go, what the...
Just picture this scene, here I'm walking down the street, and next to one building I find a giant raccoon with man-boobs and a pair of large balls being dragged on the floor. That is in fact one of those things that makes you go "...what in hell were they thinking".
Turns out these raccoons, or rather raccoon dogs, are known as "tanuki" in Japan. Turns out these raccoons also use their balls as drums. Well... as they say, "only in Japan".

the racoon dog with large balls are a sign of good luck, you mostly see them at the entrance of restaurant, just like the cat wich is all day long wavin it's golden hand (because he's leaning towards the money)
btw, you should do some kind of food in japan or sumthin (i love jap. food!)

Ha! I love Tanuki. I remember as a child my dad telling me what a Tanuki was while playing Super Mario 3. Mario would put on a Raccoon suit and was able to transform into a statue so enemies would pass him. I asked "Why does wearing a raccoon suit turn Mario into a statue?" to which my dad replied "He's actually a Tanuki, they look like raccoons but they can turn into others things."
