Around the neighborhood 9 01

And as promised we continue yesterday's photo walk on from the yellow wall. This one will be slightly longer then usual, but I don't want to chop it up into 2 more parts. But anyways, wonder why there are 4 manholes in front of this house.

Around the neighborhood 9 02

Tons of different stuff laying around everywhere.

Around the neighborhood 9 03

Random flower.

Around the neighborhood 9 04

Neatly trimmed palm-like plant.

Around the neighborhood 9 05

Random homes. Car parked on the little bridge.

Around the neighborhood 9 06

And the empty parking area of the house in the previous photo.

Around the neighborhood 9 07

Large parking area.

Around the neighborhood 9 08

Another squinty-eyed kitty.

Around the neighborhood 9 09

Another flower.

Around the neighborhood 9 10

Gardens in front of some house.

Around the neighborhood 9 11

In case you didn't realize yet, I love taking photos of flowers.

Around the neighborhood 9 12

Building the foundation of a house.

Around the neighborhood 9 13

Random building.

Around the neighborhood 9 14

Japanese folks love plants it seems. You'll find tons of flowers and other plants in front of just about every single house.

Around the neighborhood 9 15

Yaay! More flowers!

Around the neighborhood 9 17

Walking along I see a wall with some plants sticking out from behind it, of course, being the curious being that I am, I had to take a peak inside.

Around the neighborhood 9 16

Glad I did, found this amazing garden behind the wall. Just wow, must've taken so much effort and money to make something like this.

Around the neighborhood 9 18

More flowers in front of a building.

Around the neighborhood 9 19

Absolutely loved the plant-covered wall an the row of pots standing next to it.

Around the neighborhood 9 20

The very very pretty Peugeot 407 SW on very pretty and shiny rims standing outside of someone's house. I absolutely love Peugeots. From what I hear they're not exactly the most reliable of cars, as a friend of mine put it, "held together with spit and duct tape", but looks wise, they're absolutely stunners.

Around the neighborhood 9 21

Tons more amazing plants behind someone's wall. Seems like every single house has its own wall surrounding it.

Around the neighborhood 9 22

Random building.

Around the neighborhood 9 23

Plants.

Around the neighborhood 9 24

More of the same plants. There was a whole field of them.

Around the neighborhood 9 25

Green-houses on the budget. Found it interesting how they managed to wrap every single row all in one go with one piece of plastic wrap. Also quite a witty construction of the whole thing.

Around the neighborhood 9 26

Bamboo standing outside of some house.

Around the neighborhood 9 27

Cactus. The white balls actually remind me of the balls used by spiders to carry their eggs. If you've never saw them, see this: http://www.cirrusimage.com/spider_nursery_web.htm

Around the neighborhood 9 28

Some other weird looking plant.

Around the neighborhood 9 29

Since the vending machine owners pay based on how much area the machine takes up on the ground, making a smaller base with a wide top is one way to get around paying more.

Around the neighborhood 9 30

As I mentioned in a previous article, most all Japanese trucks open in all directions for easy loading and unloading even when standing on a small street. I would guess such trucks exist in parts of Europe also, but in all the years I lived in US, I never saw anything like it, so found this quite interesting.

Around the neighborhood 9 31

Some red berries.

Around the neighborhood 9 32

Even more random plants.

Around the neighborhood 9 33

A palm. As I once said previously, was extremely surprised to find palms growing in Japan, never realized it was warm enough for them to grow on their own.

Around the neighborhood 9 34

Very bright trucks standing outside of a warehouse.

Around the neighborhood 9 35

Most of the bridges in front of houses are only wide enough to support one car. This one was big enough to support a lot more.

Around the neighborhood 9 36

A red bridge.

Around the neighborhood 9 37

A random empty field.

Around the neighborhood 9 38

Some cars parked outside of an apartment building.

Around the neighborhood 9 39

Walking along another tiny street...

Around the neighborhood 9 41

...I turn in one direction, I see a newly built house. Very very pretty. I then turn around,

Around the neighborhood 9 40
Holy mother of god, what in hell! The car underneath (behind?) this bizarre face, is if I'm not mistaken a Honda VAMOS. I've seen some weird mods to the kei cars, but this definitely takes the trophy.

Around the neighborhood 9 42

And another random shot to finish off this post. More photo walks coming soon.

Do you mind if I take your concept and create my very own "Around the hood" series. This is a real good way to get people to see what the local areas in Japan look like. A lot of the pictures I showed my friends of Japan are just of flashing lights in main areas..

    @Prometheus

Me? Mind? If anything, I would ask you to please do it. I would love to see your parts of the city! ^_^

    You seem to be very knowledgeable about cars, aren't you? I also like plants, we have lots in our house though I don't know the different names. ^^;

    Michael Flux

@sanguinerose, Well, I wouldn't say "very knowledgeable", but I've been working as an art director for one automotive news website for about 2 years now, so looking at, and reading about cars on a daily basis, covering every single auto show... well, want to or not but some knowledge rubbed off on me ^_^

  7. bk201

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!! Enough for four of them!

    Michael Flux

@bk201, Oh.... Took me a day to get it, but finally understood what you're talking about :p Thanks for the laugh ^_^

you should now get a little favico.

btw. in spain most trucks open in all directions

    Michael Flux

@julio, Yup, will come up with something when I finish the redesign ^_^. So far is coming along wonderfully.

Peugeot! hehe!!! This is how a Brit mechanic described it:

"A French blonde. Very beautiful but very impractical. Her bra is stitched to the panty and the panty is stitched into the stockings. You can't take one thing out...get stripped!" Makes sense?

This post inspires me to get a licence for the "Around the neighbourhood" idea. Anyone for an English neighbourhood pics? Mind you they're very stylish :P

Every one on internet searches for really cool content. Its very unfortunate with most of the websites published posts that are boring and out of context articles, just to show that new material is being published. Contrary to that immoral practice, this article is a really cool-written article.
