Around the neighborhood 15 01

One of the bad things about going out and taking a ton of good photos in one day, is that you want to share all those photos, yet you really can't share them all a once, at least without making 30-40MB posts with hundreds photos in a row. So I'm kinda stuck separating photo walks like this into 4-5 posts different posts. But anyway, starting at the gas/service station where I left off in yesterday's post.

Tons of bicycles parked along the street.

The spiral MODE GAKUEN building is just ever so shiny.

Waiting to cross the street.

And as the light turns green, people!

From a different angle.

Going down the street, I see a Toyota Supra with an amazing looking body kit. Looks so damn nice in white and without a huge spoiler on its back.

Crossed the street to take another glance at that awesome looking Supra.

And back to exploring.

Around the neighborhood 15 16

Bikes being tagged, probably for standing there for too long.

Around the neighborhood 15 17

Bicycles, scooters and motorcycles all parked in a row.

Around the neighborhood 15 18

Really like this crosswalk. When the lights turn green you can just cross the street into any direction you want.

Around the neighborhood 15 19

As I continue waiting for the light to change, people are slowly gathering on the other side.

Around the neighborhood 15 20

Some people can't wait for the green light.

Around the neighborhood 15 21

Everything so nice and clean and perfect looking.

Around the neighborhood 15 22

On the side/back of the Midland Square building, there are huge balls on the ground. Out of one of the balls, a tree grows.

A close-up of the ball.

Oh and if you're wondering why people are dressed this way, don't forget that I took these photos like 6-7 month ago and are now just getting around to posting them finally. But anyway, a cute girl.

Standing under the MODE GAKUEN building (that spiral one).

The things attached to the side of the building which is being built are there to catch if something falls, just in case, in case anyone was wondering. :p

It's kinda funny, all the time in illustrations of 'cities of the future' you see all these shiny cities, with roads running on multiple levels, between buildings and so on... What's funny is that instead of waiting for the future, you can come to Japan where highways have been running though cities this way for decades now, looks so damn cool I think.

Lets end this post with this photo, be back tomorrow!

i think japan is just a projection of the world in 10-15 years (on certain stuff), as you could say it's the capital of technology, and of design... japan is the future!

although (as i heard) it's slightly retarded in the mentalyty, the're very closed... (dunno if that expression exists in english in spanish it does...

    Tibul

@julio, Well you cant really say they are retarded just because there culture and way of thinking and so on is different to our own, its just different simple as, they may think were just as weird.

    julio

@Tibul, well, didn't want to use retarded... but couldn't think of another word ...

  2. yamada

very peaceful place here, wanna try that vending machine drinks.

    Michael Flux

@yamada, Oh how I miss those vending machines :( So many extremely tasty drinks :'(

  3. Heferkimbo

Japan really looks like the future like you said... but there few aspects of japan that i really hate... deeply hate.... whale hunting an dolphin killing... you guys should watch this movie/documentary.. i saw it on front row -> movie trailers, i think its called "the cove"... man, i f@k@ng hate that side of japan. Many of my friends (japanese) that eat whale say its like eating cow... how stupid that affirmation is, there are like 10 gazillions of cows in the world..... whales are on a different level just like dolphins and they are an endangered specie!!...

Other than that, i love japan...

    Michael Flux

@Heferkimbo, Well, to be fair, the number is more like 995,838,000. :p -- and yeah, saw that trailer few weeks back. But you know, I really can't say I agree with you. I mean I find it a bit silly saying 'you can eat those, but you can't eat that'. That would be like saying 'you can _______ the Chinese simply because they're Chinese and there are a million billion of them'. I just think its a bit unfair to be protecting one species, while completely ignoring the other simply because there are more of them. :/

    Heferkimbo

@Michael Flux, Ok, numbers have nothing to do with whale hunting and what can cultures eat... but i think that species in the verge of extinction and protected by each countries law, and international laws should be respected and allowed to recover in their number before hunting them for food. I think japan can survive 5 - 8 years without killing ... : P

  4. Tibul

One thing I've been noticing is how little litter there is, over here in the UK its everywhere from turned upside down shopping trolleys on foot paths to loads of KFC, Burger king meals thrown in car parks and on the sides of the roads.

    Michael Flux

@Tibul, Yup :( But yeah, it really is quite refreshing being around people who actually care about what their country looks like, ones who actually care enough to clean up after themselves instead of expecting that maybe someone will clean up for them. Just overall such a clean and organized nation the Japanese are as a whole.

  5. Smithy

That must be the cleanest garage/service station I have ever seen, the floors are even shiny! 0_0

    Customer I work for has one of their workshop locations next to the office facility and the floors there... well everything... is just dirty. ^^;;

    Michael Flux

@Smithy, Hah, yeah, same almost everywhere here in the States, in most of such stations, the ceilings are dirtier then these floors :p

  6. Moign Khawaja

The flow of great, interesting pics is on the rise. Keep it up mate! Especially liked the close up of ball with tree jutting out and sky view of the spiral building.

    Michael Flux

@Moign Khawaja, Heh, and when I run out of photos, that flow will drop like a rock :p
