Around the city 3

After many tiny posts, dreary Michigan, and tasty noodles, we return to Japan for another installment of Around the neighborhood/around the city whatever you wanna call it. So then starting off from my apartment and going towards the city via tiny streets... The green & yellow building on the left is a kindergarden. Speaking of them, holy crap they're brutally cold in Japan during winter.
Once before posted a photo of this miniature canal, though the previous one was taken slightly down the road. Seems like every time I passed it I took a photo of it. Probably will post some more photos of it in future photo walks.
Mail delivery bike. As I mentioned before, the mail gets delivered using bikes as a car, no matter how small it is, would block most of the street in many places and stop all traffic. The bike is a 50cc Honda Super Cub.

Getting closer to the center of the city and waiting for another light to change.
Even closer, and another light.
And when I get to the center, I instantly go to the BIC CAMERA store located behind Nagoya Station.
As the name suggests, its heaven for anyone into photography.
Love the fact that you can play around with all the cameras and all of them are actually working. Whenever you go to any store in US, with B&H Photo Video being an exception, all the dSRLs are under class and all the point & shoot cameras are either fakes or are broken/dead. Here feel free to play around with the likes of Nikon D3 or Canon 1Ds Mark III.
Of course the glass you can't touch. But still, just look at all of it!
Cameras, cameras, cameras and some more cameras. Actually all of the "professional" cameras are located on the basement floor of the store and not too much people tend to hang out there. On the 1st floor, mostly around the main entrance is where you will find all the consumer equipment and that floor is completely swamped with people all the time.
Among all the pro cameras you'll also find tons of other optical equipment such as binoculars and telescopes.
If you go to the floors above you will find all the other electronics. On one of the floors its nothing but TVs. If you're an American reader and have ever been to the likes of Circuit City Best Buy, that isn't even close. the sheer selection here completely annihilates the likes of BB.
Especially loved this one. Not only is it just 35mm thin, but, well, just look at how damn white and pretty it is!
In the corner of another floor you'll find a bunch of bikes, some, if I may say, pretty damn overpriced.
Something interesting I found is that there are lots of "car branded" bikes in Japan. For example you'll find bikes with the "Hummer" logo, or this blue one for example with the "mini" logo. In the previous photo, note the Chevrolet bike, methinks there are more Chevy bikes then cars sold in Japan. Really, I think in all my time there I saw only 2-3 Chevrolet cars on the roads.
Another floor is covered with computers, both notebooks and desktops.
Then another floor with all sorts of other home products, washing machines, refrigerators and so on.
Speaking of which, some of the refrigerators. These make the one I had in the apartment feel small and insignificant. Though on a more positive note that one was easier and cheaper to keep full. ^_^

Rice cookers. The second one from the left on the top shelf is just like the one I had, except mine had yellow buttons. So cute, and perfect rice each time. ^_^

And back on the first floor some phones.
Also on the first floor is somewhat large game related area, consoles, games and so on. When exiting you're greeted by a giant Mario.
When entering, by an even larger blow-up cat.
Eating while riding on a bike. Found it interesting how well the Japanese multitask when on bikes. Somehow they manage to ride with an umbrella in one hand, food in the other, then somewhere else they also find an extra hand to hold the cellphone, and all that while maneuvering around those who are walking.
