Around the city 2
Apr 09 2009 23:58 | 11 Comments
Only the 2nd post from this series, and my system is already falling apart. Maybe dividing into 'city' and 'neighborhood' wasn't such a good idea after all. Really need to come up with something better. Absolutely love the Louis Vuitton store front.
But here's where my system starts to fall apart. Turns out that before I got to the city, I had to go though the neighborhoods. Above is a small, somewhat abandoned, shrine. If I ever have some free time, should really fix it all up. Would look quite wonderful if cared for.
Street while going towards the city.
I lived just across the river from the actual "city" of Nagoya. Because of that, prices on apartments dropped by a good 30-40%.
Work being done on some cables. A net is erected halfway down the pole so if anything falls, it lands in the net, rather then on someone's head.
Getting closer to the center of the city.
Go under the bridge, and you come out not far away from Nagoya Station.
Go right past it, keep heading east, and you'll find a building with a picture of what I understand to be a dead whale floating in orbit around earth.
Waiting for the light to change.
Wow. I was quite literally freezing my behind off, and they're walking around in short shirts. Was maybe +5 C at the time.
If you go down to the subway station, you'll find a small Nissan showroom. Few pretty cars there.
What a pretty rear the new 370Z (or FairladyZ as its know in Japan) has. Old one was a bit too blocky for my taste. If I was in the market for such a car, this would probably be around the top of the list. Though personally I prefer a nice sedan over a coupe, would love a Volvo S80.
And of course the ever so pretty Nissan GT-R R35. From this angle, looks a bit like some sort of a bottom-feeder fish. Maybe a catfish or a grouper?
Ah, now I remember what I was doing there. Needed to stop by the bank to get some more money as I was running low. Then, back on the bike, and wherever I went after that.
Ambulance standing on the side of the road.
Passing by another small shrine squished in between buildings.
More palms.
Again waiting for the light to change. The highway goes though the city at 3-4 floors above ground.
Going back over the bridge near which the whale was located.
And another light. However you travel, be it by car, bike or walking. Always stuck at all the lights.
Still standing...
Looking up while standing...
Stopped by a store, found where they're keeping the intel.
Find myself waiting for another light to change.
Finally come out in front of Nagoya Station. Technically, the photo I used as the header for this post goes after this one, but if you still haven't noticed, I always try to put the prettiest photo upfront. Makes a good tease don't you think?

What city is this? It may be obvious for people who've read every blog post but you should include some more details. P.S. Including them in the title or meta-tags will get you more leads from google.

Great photo as always. One of my projects when for the summer is to spend more time with photography. It would be nice to take some photos in some urban settings. With the last move I made so many of my photos where lost...

@Edward
Lost how so? Do you take photos on film by any chance?
Edward
@Michael Boxes went "missing" when I last moved. (--#) Yes it was all film. Majority of my photos are in that medium and when negatives are well... It has only been about 4 years ago since I switched to digital. I don't have a lot to show for those years.
