Around the neighborhood 2

As promised, here is the continuation of yesterday’s post.
Another thing I found interesting is how mixed all the areas in Nagoya were. There isn’t a “residental area” or a “commercial area”, there is a bit of everything everywhere. Take this photo for example. In the background a bunch of homes, in the foreground a couple of small greenhouses. Across the street a few small factories. In turn, everything is close to everyone.
Lots of such trees everywhere. Fruits grow, fall down, people don’t seem to eat them all that much for whatever reason.
Never realized palms grew natively in Japan. Was extremely surprised to see them.
Clean and shiny garbage truck. How clean are the garbage vehicles in your area? Here they’re usually these huge, ugly rust-buckets.
Small canals like this are everywhere you look. Sometimes the house is facing towards the canal and so you have to enter the house via a bridge. Typically the car is parked on the bridge also.
Hay neatly collected after harvest. First time I’ve seen it collected in that way.
Turtles inhabiting one of the many canals.
Road going towards the center of the city and a gas station next to it.
Vroom vroom! What a cute little kei truck. First time I saw something so tiny. In the states if you want a pickup the smallest you can get is a Ford F150, which is frankly a tank. There is also of course the Ford Ranger, but I don’t even see the point in mentioning it as it, while being smaller, burns just as much gas, and thats while being way less powerful. A stupid and impractical car all around.
Truck collecting paper trash. Something else I noticed; 99% of all the trucks in Japan are able to open their cargo areas not only from the back, but also from the sides to make loading and unloading easier when just standing on a street next to the curb.
Spider! This little fella was about 20cm from the end of one leg to another. Anyone know what would be more correct way of giving a measurement of a spider?
Postal service delivery bike. All the mail is delivered on bikes as there just isn’t enough space on some of the smaller roads for a car to get though without blocking off the whole street.
Doesn’t look that good in US. Looks even more ridiculous on Japan’s streets.
And moments later, a Bentley Brooklands.
A bunch of stone lanterns just randomly standing next to some house. Quite a bit of them everywhere. If not mistaken they’re called something along the lines of ‘ishi-doro’. Anyone know if thats the correct name or not?
A small local café or something along those lines. Found it funny how to save space they turned it into a mushroom and put the parking under it.
Apartment building. On a sunny day everyone hangs their futon mattresses wherever they can. They even sell special clip-on things made specifically for hanging the futon this way.
A cute little Honda Z.
And finally, saw a Toyota Supra in someone’s driveway. Probably one of my all time favorite Japanese sport cars. What's your favorite sports car?

Brunei government's garbage trucks are stench-old-rusty and the service sometimes very bad. I like the non-government garbage trucks always clean and white. ^^
Honda Z? Thats mean Honda Today might be lurking around your neighborhood LOL, man I like that car since I watched You're Under Arrest. I thought that car never exist after I searched it at Wikipedia XD

@Joe,
Oh come on, its not THAT bad :p As long as it doesn't bite your head off, there's nothing at all to worry about! And look on the bright side. When it does bite your head off, you won't have anything to worry with! ^_^
@yamada
Hahaha, yeah, I wasn't too sure what it was at first either. Had to do a wee bit of research while writing the post. I just knew that it wasn't the Today as that model was a lot lower/flatter.

I'm so confused about the definition of best or favourite sports car...and want to know the reason??? TOP GEAR!!!
more than 1001 reasons to watch it...Do you watch it Michael?
Michael Flux
@Moign Khawaja, hah, yeah, of course, hands down of the best car shows out there, watched every single episode of it, well at least of the 'new' Top Gear - that is to say 2002 and onwards. I really love how brutally honest they are in their reviews - like if a car sucks, then they'll just say it sucks and aren't worried about offending some company.
I remember few years ago when they reviewed the Chrysler Crossfire and among many other things, they said it 'looked like a dog which was sitting down to take a poo' :D really loved that ^_^
